ENJOI.

and again we're here. You are beautiful.

a text conversation between my friend tamara and i:

me: "I seriously feel like i am terrible at loving God."
tam: "like you feel distracted?"
me: "Ya and uninspired. And a Martha."
"Just a big ol' Martha"
tam: "I feel the same way..."

"but guess what? martha loved Jesus."

"and Jesus loved her."

i've had a beautiful journey. a beautiful journey. as a young girl in the basement of my small church, located in an office building, i laid hands on a child and saw her be healed. i sat in a darkened room and saw visions of rushing waters and rivers of life and Jesus with me in them. i wept when His presence came. i laid in my bed and asked Him to tell me who I was - and He spoke.
i felt the burning in my heart at friday night youth group meetings. i felt him calling me deeper. i learned to worship.
i attended Sunday evening prayer meetings and hid in the corner by the sound booth and prayed for the prodigals. i learned to journal. i learned to pray. i learned to listen.
i read jeremiah and wept. i read hosea and wept. i read john and wept. i read revelation and wept.
i saw my leg healed before my very eyes. i saw gospel tracks multiplied in a backpack in a small city in thailand. i saw the Lord weep over a city - as words of promise fell like raindrops that the ground ate up.
i met friends who felt as if they'd been sewn to my heart from the day i was born. i met my army. i saw my brothers. i laughed with my sisters.
i visited the throne room, slouched on the stage of a church. i waited in the kitchen with one lit candle, asking for Him to walk into the room. i'd heard stories.
i saw people i love be set free. be redeemed. be restored by the very hand of God.
i met a man who caused the dull colors of my life to be brightened. his life sung the melody to my lonely harmony. i fell in love.
i have lived all over. i have felt the lowest of lows, and the highest of highs. i've had nightmares. i've had dreams.
i watched a prophet swell in my belly over 9 months and come into the world screaming for a king.  i've stared into his eyes and began crying with a love so deep, hearing the echo of a Father crying over me.
i've had a beautiful journey. my journey, it is beautiful.

and so in it, i've loved well and i've been distracted. i've gotten busy. i've cooked many a meals in the kitchen - pots clanging and faucet running, when i should have been at His feet. i've wrestled with lesser lovers and made excuses. i've burned bridges in the name of Love. i've smelled his scent with the familiarity a betrothed would bring, and i've seen His shadow and felt far away. i've ached, i've yearned, i've been slayed with longing.

but still i love Him. it's weak. it's feeble. but, He promises, it is real.

and still He loves me. it is jealous. it's unrelenting. but, He shouts from heaven, it won't give up.

hallelujah, hallelujah. He's beautiful to me.

amos and his vlog

No time to show off. from Tiffany Valdez on Vimeo.

so that's a little hello from amos.

today is a wonderful day. my always stunning sister-in-law jen celebrates her birthday. my dear mother flies into san diego tomorrow for a long, grandma-lovey weekend. my friend william matthews released his first solo album on itunes - therefore my day is filled with lovely, refreshing tunes. i'm off tonight, as i've switched to one day a week for teaching, so i get to have a normal evening with my family. and the weather is BEAUTIFUL! no need for our little window air conditioning unit (unlike yesterday, as you can see from the above video). could it get any better?! i think not.

the dainty woods.

so not only did the see the skyline table set up go fabulous on tuesday, but i met a new friend! she is incredibly talented and has a very similar heart to my own. we hung out the entire morning, and i can't wait until i get a free afternoon to spend time with her. you MUST go check out her etsy shop: the dainty woods. it is incredible, and her work is so detailed and intricate - if I would have known about this little gem, i would have definitely commissioned her for our wedding. she does bridal accesories, center pieces, garters and more wedding goods. along with all that, she has necklaces, bows and more for the pre-married, post-married shopper.

you can find her blog at - walk with me, darling. please, please go say hello!

here is a small glimpse of her set-up. my puny iphone doesn't give any of it justice, so go take a peek at her etsy shop to have a better look!

You interested?

why hello!

i have some thoughts and invitations i'd like to share:

1.) I have not forgotten about the financial spreadsheet. I am sooooo exhausted from this week (and today!) that I'm putting it off until tomorrow (along with a dozen other things) to gather up all the emails and send it out. Please forgive my delay!!!

2.) I have been thinking about starting some sponsorship for the side of my blog. I would love to feature blogs, shops, products, and more! It would be a very low cost, as it is the first time I am doing it, but would anyone be interested? If so - just shoot me an email: seetheskyline@gmail.com. An email isn't a commitment, but if you have any questions or are thinking about it - let me know! I receive about 7,000+ hits a month - just to give you a quick stat.

3.) I want to start a penpal program. Please email me if you are interested in this! I would love to do package exchange... where we each package up 5-6 goodies and send them to each other. Rather you are new here, a blogging friend, or whomever! Let me know if you'd love to do a switcharoo. :)

I attended this workshop today hosted by these ladies. It was so lovely, but LA trips with babies is always exhausting. I have so much to do - I feel slightly overwhelmed... or, honestly, massively overwhelmed. Hopefully I can get back on track sooner than later! I'm off to bed to get rested for a busy, busy day again tomorrow... (and the next and the next and the next - oh boy...!)

and he runs this town.

Hello World, I'm a grown up!

So, Tuesday came and went, and I'm sitting here laughing at the fact I'm now considered part of the "wedding industry." So insane.

It was a wonderful event in an absolutely ridiculously gorgeous location. There were vines with fresh grapes, fog in the distance, and secret gazebos hidden behind walls of ivy.

I sat up my little table - using the random things I pulled from around the house. Both Ricky and I were sitting on our living room floor the night before making a mock-up of my table. I would explain, "Go grab that vase from the shelf in the kitchen - that might look sweet!" and Ricky would haphazardly leap over my display to retrieve previously requested item while I would then freak out as the whole display would almost come crashing to the floor.

It looked pretty snazzy, considering. I now have greater clarity for my thrift store/flea market hunts. Sweet items to display the invites. I'm hoping for some of these to help with my next set up.

http://maemaepaperie.com/ - but i love their use of menu stands.

I also had some business cards that I created, LITERALLY, in 5 minutes while Amos was occupied with a blue straw the day before. They aren't the grandest, but they served the purpose they were set out to do. Here's a glimpse. (P.S. If anyone has anywhere they know to put them that would reach some brides - let me know! I'll send you some.)

The sad part of the day was I only had my iPhone (and the cross process ap). We have misplaced our Canon camera battery charger and it was dead the night before. I got what I could, but I'm hoping my new friend and some of the professionals there took some crisper images.

The event was put on by the lovely Erin Hall of Hall Events who has INCREDIBLE taste. If I would have known about her at my wedding, I would have most definitely had her work her magic. Check out this beautiful display with an antique typewriter. AHHHH! I love it!

it was so lovely - and tomorrow i'm going to talk about my new friend and her absolutely incredible shop and some of the other vendors that were there.
